Anne Bogart- Director

Anne is Artistic Director of the Saratoga International Theater Institute (SITI) which she founded with Japanese director Tadashi Suzuki in 1992. She is a recipient of two Obie Awards, a Bessie Award, and is an Associate Professor at Columbia University.

Recent works with SITI Company include Culture of Desire, a piece combining Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground with Dante's Inferno, which premiered this fall at Pittsburgh's City Theatre; Bob, a one man performance about Robert Wilson premiering this season at the Wexner Center; August Strindberg's Miss Julie at the Actors Theatre of Louisville; Small Lives/Big Dreams at the Cultural Olympiad in Atlanta; Going, Going, Gone at The Humana Festival of New American Plays; and extensive touring of The Medium, an original work based on the theories of Marshall McLuhan, which had an extended run at NYTW.

Other recent theater works include Seven Deadly Sins at New York City Opera; Elmer Rice's The Adding Machine at Actors Theatre of Louisville; Paula Vogel's Hot 'n' Throbbing at the American Repertory Theatre; Marathon Dancing at En Garde Arts; Escape From Paradise by Regina Taylor at Circle Rep; The Women, by Clare Boothe Luce at Hartford Stage; William Inge's Picnic at Actors Theatre of Louisville; Charles Mee Jr.'s Orestes with SITI in Japan and Saratoga Springs; American Vaudeville, created with Tina Landau at the Alley Theater in Houston, Texas; Paula Vogel's The Baltimore Waltz at Circle Rep; and Bertolt Brecht's In The Jungle of Cities at the NYSF.
